We are one of the oldest continually active junior football club in Harrogate having been established in 1966 (another reason why this was a great year for English football!).
Our founder was Mike Ryans, who was joined a little later by Joe Billington. Many of the current coaches played for the club as juniors, graduated to the open age team and then came back to coach in the junior club when their own children were old enough to play.
We are a Charter Standard Club, and have been since 2007, which means that we run the club to the standards and procedures that have been set by the Football Association for junior clubs like ours. This includes ensuring that our coaches are appropriately qualified and that we have safeguarding procedures in place to keep children safe.
We are also a registered charity which is governed by volunteer trustees. The trustees make sure that the club operates within the Charity Commission rules. As a charity, we would always welcome interest from any individual or business who would like to consider a donation or sponsorship.
The Club
Day-to-day management of the club is led by a small volunteer committee and supported by over 100 others including coaches and parents who have taken on various roles. We are reliant on our army of helpers and actively encourage you to come forward to get involved with the club.
We have squads ranging from Under 5 to Under 18, both boys, girls and mixed teams. Mostly, our teams play in the Harrogate Friendly League and the Harrogate Junior League. However, some teams do enter different competitions.
